EMDI was founded in 2002 in Mumbai, India's entertainment capital, with the dream of providing industry-relevant, career-focused event management, advertising, and other media-related courses. In 2004, this idea brought EMDI to Dubai, the event capital of the world, giving it a global footprint. EMDI has three centres in India- in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bangalore.
The institute currently provides training in event management & experiential marketing, advertising, public relations and digital marketing and wedding planning. SWAT: This popular annual EMDI event known as SWAT(Students Working Against Tobacco) was first held in 2004. It is a youth-focused campaign to educate and equip young people to combat the deadly tobacco. Instead of alienating tobacco users, the goal is to demonstrate how engaging in artistic pursuits like acting, writing, painting, and physical activity can help curb the temptation to smoke. The event, which takes place over a week, conveys that tobacco use can be controlled and stopped.
League of Champions (LOC): The annual two-day sporting event known as the League of Champions (LOC) is created, planned and run by students from EMDI and Ironwood. The two-day sporting event consists of a football tournament and a cricket tournament. Teams from all around Maharashtra compete to be crowned the champions. League of Champions enables the students to communicate their theoretical knowledge in a way that will help them organise an event and see it through to a successful conclusion.
